Nagaland: 5th Kohima village junior sports meet 2024 held

The 5th Kohima Village Junior Sports Meet was held on Monday at D. Khel ground and indoor stadium, Seikhazou. The sport meet held under the theme “Nurturing the Future” was hosted by the Kohima Village Students Union with the support of the Kohima Village Youth Organisation.


The biennial sports meet was held with an aim to groom the next generation of sportspersons. Team Samurai emerged as the overall champions winning the 5 golds and 3 silvers.


Team Samurai emerged victorious in the basketball match, showcasing their prowess by defeating Team Warriors. Meanwhile, the football match saw an impressive performance from Team Gladiators, as they triumphed over the resilient Team Samurai.


The junior sports meet also featured thrilling encounters in table tennis and badminton. Players from all teams displayed exceptional skill and sportsmanship as they battled it out on the court. The matches were fiercely contested, with each player demonstrating their agility, precision, and tactical prowess. The spectators were treated to exhilarating rallies and intense competition, making for an unforgettable sporting spectacle.
