The 5th Mokokchung Inter-ward football tournament organized by Marepkong Youth Association (MYA), under the theme “Rise as One”, kicked off at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Tuesday, with president NDPP Mokokchung Region, Mayangnungba as the guest of honour.
Speaking at the programme, Mayangnungba stated that the love of football is universal but only the best of the best are able to shine. He said the platform offered by the MYA should be aptly utilised as a springboard towards professionalism. At the same time, the guest of honour urged the players to enjoy the game with gaiety in discipline.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Bendangsunep and exhortation said by Mongsenbai Ward chairman, Marnungsang Ao while God’s presence was invoked by Police Baptist Church DEF, pastor, L Temjen. The oath was administered by president MYA Takalong Pongen.
