Dimpaur police has informed that six persons have been arrested in connection with the death of an alleged thief, Ikamil Hussain son of Kalak Hussain aged around 20 years, resident of Bokajan, Assam on September 19.
Dy. Commissioner of Police and PRO, Dimapur, informed that on receiving information that a thief has been detained by the youth of Ward No. 11 Chumoukedima at the panchayat hall, personnel of Chumoukedima rushed to the spot and found the victim in an unconscious state.
PRO said that the victim was immediately rushed to District Hospital Dimapur for medical treatment but doctor declared him brought dead. In this connection, Mhasisetuo Thepa, Kenelelie Chalie, Lhousevilie Doze, Job Venuh, Kekhrieselie Liezetsu and Nirmal Saikia were arrested. A case has been registered under relevant sections of law and investigation is underway, PRO said.
