The 67th Kohima Village Sports Association (KVSA) Meet 2026 moved closer to its conclusion on Thursday as Day 6 witnessed the culmination of major team events, significantly shaping the overall medal standings.
As of 6:39 pm on Thursday, T Khel continued to lead the medal tally with a total of 46 medals, comprising 21 gold, 19 silver and 6 bronze. P Khel stood second with 23 medals including 11 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze. In third place was L Khel with 29 medals comprising of 8 gold, 16 silver and 5 bronze, while D Khel was placed in the fourth with 21 medals, with 7 gold, 6 silver and 8 bronze.
In the overall count, a total of 119 medals have been distributed so far, including 47 gold, 48 silver and 24 bronze.
Thursday’s competitions featured decisive encounters in volleyball, basketball, football and cricket. L Khel enjoyed a strong day, clinching gold medals in men’s volleyball, men’s basketball, men’s football and men’s cricket, underlining its dominance in men’s team events. P Khel claimed silver in both men’s volleyball and football, while T Khel secured silver in men’s cricket.
In the women’s category, D Khel emerged victorious in volleyball to claim gold, while T Khel finished with silver. T Khel also topped the podium in women’s basketball, with D Khel settling for silver.
With most events concluded, the focus now shifts to the final day of competition on Friday. Only wrestling and cross-country events for both men and women remain, which are expected to play a decisive role in determining the final medal standings and overall champions of the 67th KVSA Meet.
The meet will conclude on Friday, bringing an end to seven days of intense competition, record-breaking performances and strong displays of sporting spirit across all participating khel units.
