Director of technical education, Mhaseto Nakro addressed the 68th general session of the Thenyizumi Students’ Union (TSU) as special guest at the multi-purpose building, Thenyizu, here, on Thursday.
Exhorting the students, Mhaseto said that challenges should be regarded as stepping stones in order to move ahead in life.
The director spoke on the world of Information Technology (IT) which he said was bringing about a massive change in every sphere of life replacing all works that were done manually. In this regard, he advised the parents to encourage children to pursue their interests while also inculcating their experiences and guiding them with good moral values.
He briefly highlighted the prospect of the New Education Policy (NEP) and that it would be more practical based education with the benefits for learners to be more skilled. Earlier, village council chairman (VCC) Thenyizu Medothi Rhakho delivered the greetings.
While presidential address was delivered TSU president, Vekuto Kezo, educational and statistical report was presented by Zuhvozolu Theyo, folk song was presented by women society, Thenyizu and a solo was also presented by Yotolu Swuro.
On the occasion, 17 students were awarded with the Lt Punuhu Dawhuo Memorial Award donated by former minister, Thenucho Tunyi for securing first class in HSLC examination.
Later in the evening session, Boduve Peter Resu, judicial magistrate, first class, Dimapur was the session speaker while village education committee (VEC) chairman, C Theyo exhorted the gathering.
Meanwhile a new team of TSU for 2022 was elected.
The team would be led by Nuzovo Dawhuo as president, Vezhodulu Swiho as vice president, Nusakholu Dawhuo as general secretary along with other executives.
