6th Nagaland State Sepaktakraw Open C’ship kicks off

The 6th Nagaland State Sepaktakraw (Men & Women) Open Championship 2025 commenced on Wednesday, at Government Higher Secondary School Ground, Dimapur, organized by the Nagaland Sepaktakraw Association (NASTA).
Declaring the championship open, deputy director, Sports Authority of India (STC–Dimapur), Harender Singh, in his brief address, said that perception of sports in India had undergone a major shift over the years, noting that earlier, sports was merely considered a time-pass activity, however, through sports, young people are now representing their state and country at national and international platforms.
Singh urged players to remain focused and strive to achieve highest standards of performance, noting that discipline, commitment and continuous effort were key to excelling in competitive sports. Earlier, the inaugural programme was chaired by Visevinuo Khrieo, invocation offered by Youth Evangelist, Yisem Fellowship DABA, Moasenla, while president NASTA, Ruokuo Kire, delivered the welcome address.
A total of 10 teams, six men’s teams and four women’s teams, are participating in this year’s two days open tournament, with the championship playing in Regu events.
Winners of the tournament would receive cash prizes of Rs. 20,000, Rs. 15,000, and Rs. 10,000 respectively, along with trophies and certificates.
