The 6th Under-20 Football Tournament commenced Thursday at Aohadang Ground, Borbora Ward, Tuli town, organised by the Patizung Sporting Club (PSC), Tuli.
The opening match was played between Twenty Street Tuli and PSC, where Twenty Street emerged victorious with a 2–1 win.
Senior Branch Manager of NStCB Ltd., Tuli branch, Temsulepden Imchen, graced the opening ceremony as the guest of honour. In his address, Imchen thanked PSC for organising the event and encouraged participating players to uphold teamwork, discipline, respect and a spirit of self-reliance.
Speaking to Nagaland Post, PSC president Shiludi Longkumer said the objective of the tournament is to bring together young players from across the state, particularly from the Tuli area, and to provide them a platform to nurture their talents. He added that sports is not merely a game but also an activity that promotes health, fitness and helps steer youngsters away from substance abuse.
