7-Day PACES training programme launched in Atoizu

DIMAPUR: The inaugural programme of Providing Access to Core Employability Skills (PACES), a seven-day training course comprising 50 instructional hours, was held on Wednesday at DB’s Hall, Atoizu. The initiative was organised by the Nagaland Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship in collaboration with Pragatisheel Vision Foundation, with the aim of enhancing employability skills among local youth.
Extra assistant commissioner, Atoizu, Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak, delivering the welcome address, highlighted the growing challenge of unemployment. He stated that relying solely on a college degree is no longer sufficient to secure sustainable livelihoods and stressed the importance of acquiring practical skills for self-employment and opportunities in the private sector, including within Nagaland.
Managing director, Pragatisheel Vision Foundation, Chumbemo Jerret Patton, presented an overview of the training framework, outlining the key components of the PACES initiative and expressing optimism about its potential to equip participants with essential workplace competencies.
STL president, Atoizu, Tozheli S, also spoke at the programme, encouraging youth to actively participate in such skill development initiatives.
Earlier, the programme commenced with an invocation by St. Peter’s Church, Atoizu, women president, Kughashi Z.
