7-day total lockdown in Mon begins

Mon District Task Force (DTF) held an emergency meeting on July 26 at the DC’s conference hall, Mon. Total lockdown has been enforced in Mon town from July 27 to August 2, in the light of certain emerging circumstances and a view to contain the spread of COVID-19. 

According to DIPR report, Chumlamo Humtsoe, SDO (Civil) Sadar Mon has therefore notified the following: Movement of public is strictly prohibited except medical emergencies; All business/commercial establishments and shops shall remain closed. Pharmacies are exempted; Movement of private vehicles except those permitted is banned; Trucks from Assam carrying essential commodities will be permitted only on Monday i.e July 27; Not more than 20 persons will be permitted in case of funerals; No movement will be permitted in or out of Mon town; Office of DC, SP, Banks, Fire & Emergency Services, Health & Family Welfare, Food & Civil Supplies, Power, PHED, Sanitation workers of MTC, Treasury & Accounts, PWD (R&B), Postal Services, Prisons, District Court, IPR, Home Guards & Civil Defence and Para Military Forces are exempted from the purview of this order. 
The public are requested to kindly comply with this order. Any person found violating this order will be penalized under relevant provisions of the law.
