7-day total lockdown of Pfutsero town till Aug 4

After 11 Covid-19 positive cases including eight frontline workers were detected under Pfutsero sub-division, the District Task Force (DTF) Phek has decided to imposed a total lockdown of Pfutsero town with effect from July 29 till August 4. 

In an order, DC Phek Sachin Jaiswal, stated that the decision was made during an emergency meeting held on July 29 with Pfutsero block task force and the stakeholders.

In this regard, DC stated that all shops will remain closed except pharmacies, all kinds of construction activities prohibited, while public and vehicular movement have also been prohibited expect exempted categories–  medical emergencies, police, administration, security forces, medical and essential service providers like Treasury, bank including ATMs, PHED, Food and Civil Supplies, Social Welfare, Town Council, Telecom Services, media and LPG supply. 

No total lockdown in Phek town: DC Phek has clarified that there was no imposition of total lockdown of Phek town. DC’s clarification comes following reports of a sudden call for total lockdown by some organizations in Phek town. The news created panic amongst citizens of Phek town compelling the DTF to issue a clarification late evening. 

DC said that any decision for imposition of lockdown shall be communicated through proper channel after through deliberation of the District Task Force with concerned stakeholders.
