Seven district level networks (DLNs)—Kohima, Tuensang, Kiphire, Peren, Zunheboto, Wokha and Noklak have rejected the Network of Naga People living with HIV and AIDS (NNP+) president Lanu Aier’s announcement to boycott World AIDS Day 2023 programme organised by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society.
In a statement, seven DLNs affirmed their decision to jointly observe the World AIDS Day, 2023 with NSACS, DAPCU, FBOs, NGOs and well-wishers. Describing as “baffling” the announcement made by NNP+ president, the seven DLNs stated that NNP+ president without consulting the DLNs declared to abstain from participating in the World AIDS day, 2023. “Therefore, Kohima, Tuensang, Kiphire, Peren, Zunheboto, Wokha and Noklak DLNs outrightly rejected the boycott announcement,” they stated.
