A total of seven projects under three schemes including MGNREGA, 15th Finance and grant-in-aid were inaugurated at Nerhema village by Block Development Officer, Chiephobozou, Seyiekhrielie Rio, at a programme held on Wednesday.
Addressing the village members at the panchayat hall, Rio said the village had exhibited unity by completing various developmental works. He urged the village folks to also co-operate with the department so that there would be better coordination and more successful implementation of various developmental works.
He observed that the progress and growth of a village largely depended on a village. In this regard, he urged the leaders to be more diligent towards the welfare of the village.
He pointed out that among the newly launched projects, the village approach road was one of the crucial ones which would greatly benefit the village as the people, especially the students faced tremendous hardships during rainy seasons.
He also strongly suggested that the village should also be kept clean with proper public washrooms and sanitation facilities.
He pointed out that under the new regulations of MGNREGA, 75 days would be focused on natural resources development under agri and allied sector.
While under the 15th Finance, sanitation was one of the important area of focus.
The BDO also stressed on the need to focus in the agricultural sectors as most of the village folks depend on it for their livelihood.
The projects included, drainage, approach road improvement of footstep/footpath, oak tree plantation, retaining wall and improvement of road under MGNREGA.

Earlier the inaugural programme was chaired by Nerhema Village Council chairman-Vingutuo Rutsa, while VDB secretary-Vilhousielie Kengurüse presented the project report.
Dedicatory prayer was offered by Nerhema Baptist Church pastor-Rev Vilanyü Üsou, vote of thanks was proposed by Hd GB-Rüünyü Kengurüse, while St Joseph Church, Nerhema, catechist-Vikhozolie Rülho pronounced the benediction.
