75th anniversary monolith unveiled at Sangphur village

Advisor of I&PR, SCERT, Village Guard VG, Toshi Wungtung unveiled the 75th anniversary monolith of K. Lakiumong, Hd GB Sangphur village on January 28, at council hall.

According to DIPR report, Toshi acknowledged the wisdom of K. Lakiumong for staying strong in his leadership inspite of undergoing numerous difficulties. Toshi added that under Lakiumong’s leadership, three MLAs have been elected so far, including himself. He wished the 110-year old Hd GB many more years ahead and also encouraged other GBs to follow the virtues set by Lakiumong to lead a truthful, simple and kind life. 

Other speakers included Ahoshi 2nd GB Sangphur, ADC Shamator Lankonsen Tsanglao, Hd. GB Yakor village, Hd GB Chingmei village, GB i/c Kesangwong village, GB i/c Khonangpong village, citizen chairman Wapher village, president Sangphur Union Shamator, president Sangphur Union Dimapur and VP Yimchungrü Tribal Council, Kiuji. K. Lakiumong Hd. GB Sangphur was first appointed as 2nd Hd. GB in the year 1946 and then to Hd. GB in the year 1965. 

Earlier, dedicatory prayer was offered by pastor Sangphur village, Rev. Z. Thsankiu, invocation by deacon Chipong in the programme led by GB S. Mukam.
