78 Bn CRPF celebrates 35th raising Day

The 78 Bn CRPF celebrated 35th raising day on June 1, at unit head quarter located at Zubza, Kohima, with tree plantation and homage to the martyrs.  A press release from 78 Bn CRPF stated that, wreaths were laid by officers and men at the Jai Jawan Memorial structure. Head of office, Ram Chandra hosted the CRPF flag and took the salute at unit quarter guard and briefed the jawans about the achievements and important role played by the battalion since its inception or establishment on June  1, 1985 at Group Centre CRPF Avadi (Tamil Nadu) under the leadership of commandant P. K Menon.  At present, 78 Bn functioning at Zubza, Nagaland from August 2007 and its companies are deployed in Kohima & Dimapur districts for ROP/pickets, security of vital installation escort & CPT of Governor of Nagaland and civil convoy escort duties etc.  As a part of the celebration, an inter coy shuttle badminton competition was held in the evening. Ram Chandra handed over the prizes to the winning and runner-up teams.
