Dimapur, Aug 31 (NPN): The 78 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is set to organise a series of sporting events under the banner of “Spandan – Sports for Peace and Development Across Nations” in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI).
The initiative will begin with the Zubza Marathon – 10 km, scheduled for September 5, 2026 at Sechu Zubza. The marathon is open to both men and women aged 18 years and above. Following this, a Women’s Volleyball Tournament will be held from September 7 to 10, 2026 at the B/78 Bn CRPF ground in Dimapur, also open to women participants aged 18 years and above.
To encourage participation, attractive prizes have been announced. Winners of both events will receive Rs. 10,000 for first place, Rs. 6,000 for second place and Rs. 4,000 for third place, along with certificates. All participants will be provided with T-shirts and refreshments during the events.
The organisers emphasised that the programme aims to promote peace, harmony and inclusiveness through sports. “Sports unite people, build confidence and strengthen the spirit of peace,” a CRPF spokesperson stated, highlighting the broader vision of Spandan.
The events are being coordinated by 78 Bn CRPF Sechu Zubza, Kohima, with the support of SAI and are expected to draw enthusiastic participation from across Nagaland.
