
A “civic action programme” was organized by 78 Bn CRPF on Friday at Panchayat hall Khuzama village with Deputy Inspector general of Police (DIGP) (Ops), CRPF Kohima Amit Taneya as chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, DIGP Amit Taneya described Nagaland as a scenic place and encouraged people of the state to transform Nagaland into a “lovely place” for visitors all throughout the year and not only during the annual Hornbill Festival.
Taneya also encouraged the youth of the state to come up with more innovations for the benefit of the society.
DIGP said he had witnessed CRPF having cordial relationship with the local populace whose traditions are “unparallel and unique”. He pointed out that CRPF believes in keeping alive the various traditions in the country including Nagaland so that each state could prosper and progress as a whole and that good sense prevails everywhere. While donating 22 water storage tanks of 1000 liters, he said the same would greatly help the villagers during dry season. The donation was initiated under the commandant 78 Bn CRPF in consultation with the villagers as per their need.
Commandant 78 Bn CRPF Neeraj Yadav in his address said “civic action programme” was organized to further promote the cordial relation between the CRPF and local people.
He said CRPF is the “peace keeper” of the nation and one of the largest paramilitary forces in the world with more than 3 lakh personnel.
The function was led by assistant commandant 78Bn CRPF Dzüvishil Richa, chairman Khuzama village Mehozol Hibo also spoke in the programme and vote of thanks was proposed by assistant commandant 78 Bn CRPF Werilo Lasu. Later 22 water storage tanks of 1000 litres were handed over to the villagers. The programme was attended by various organization leaders and villagers.
