Against the backdrop of administrative orders issued by the government for removal of security escorts, seizure of administrative powers of dismissed ministers and parliamentary secretaries and re-allotment of some bungalows of dissident ministers, eight rebel MLAs from the T.R. Zeliang camp in Kaziranga, have cautioned the “bureaucratic community in Nagaland” to be “very watchful and meticulous” that though they may be subjected to tremendous pressure from the top, while issuing official “legal or illegal” orders .
In a communiqué issued through press and media cell of the NPF Legislature Party — Y. Patton, Tokheho Yepthomi, Imkong L. Imchen, G. Kaito Aye, Zhaleo Rio, C.M. Chang, Y.M. Yollow and Neiba Kronu said they have been constrained to issue the caution due to the “series of decisions” taken by an “unmandated Chief Minister Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu” during the last few days.
The eight described Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu as one “deeply rooted in hypocrisy”, without democratic ideas, political morality and filled with vindictiveness and greed for power.”
The rebel MLAs maintained that their group would form “a popular government mandated by the people” to be installed “within the next few days”. Therefore, they cautioned that all the decisions taken during the last few days would be effectively reviewed and nullified once they form the popular government.
The MLAs have especially cautioned the AHoDs and HoDs to be “more watchful” so that their actions taken under pressure from incumbent chief minister, did not attract nor invite legal action against them.
They expressed hope that the “respected bureaucratic community” would take their statement in a positive perspective and not construe it as power mongering adding that their only interest was to accord due respect and humility to all the rank and file of the state bureaucracy.
