80% NEISSR graduates land jobs before course completion

DIMAPUR:

Nearly 80% of students from the North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) have already secured placements even before completing their course. This was disclosed by principal Dr. Fr. C.P. Anto during the farewell programme for MSW and BSW students held at BAM Hall under the theme “Rewind and Relive”, on May 2.
Dr. Anto lauded the achievements of the students and urged them to uphold values of compassion, justice and service. He called upon them to become agents of peace, advocates for the marginalised and leaders committed to building a just and humane society.
Chief guest Jonas Yanthan, president of the Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN), delivered a thought-provoking address, stressing that genuine development was not merely the outcome of financial investment but a process of internal human transformation. He emphasised self-reliance, ethical integrity and community responsibility, cautioning against dependency on external resources, and urged social work professionals to prioritise grassroots engagement and human relationships.
Representing the outgoing batch, Th. Jacob Khongsai (MSW IV) and Bovitoli Zhimo (BSW IV) expressed gratitude to the NEISSR family for nurturing and shaping them into confident professionals capable of contributing to community development.
The programme featured invocation by Mhasileto Phinyo (MSW II), welcome address by Atheli G. Awomi (MSW II), moderation by Lenpisangmiu (MSW II) and Lijingla (BSW IV), outgoing speeches by Khongsai and Zhimo, and vote of thanks by Melda (BSW IV).
