Clark Theological College (CTC), Aolijen-Mokokchung held its graduation for 85 members of the class of 2017 on April 9, where more than 1600 people participated.
Principal of the college Rev. Dr. Marnungsang during his speech observed that in the 45 years of CTC existence, the class of 2017 was the largest class graduating for the Glory of God. Principal also assured the impressive gathering that the board of governors, college faculty and the entire Clark community was sending out the class of 2017 whole heartedly and with God’s blessing. Principal further informed that the graduates also included the first batch of two Master’s degree programme namely Master of Theology in New Testament and Master of Theology in Communication.
The CTC 2017 graduation activities started on the evening of April 8, with the commissioning service by the education and communication secretary of NBCC Dr. Botoholi. In her speech the speaker challenged the graduating class basing on the experiences that she had in her ministries. She concluded with Holy Communion administered by Rev. Dr. A. Temjen Jamir, the academic dean of the college. Professor Rongsen was the leader of the commissioning service.
The speaker for the 42nd Graduation Ceremony was Rev. Dr. Santanu Kumar Patro, the registrar of the Senate of Serampore College (University). Professor S. K Patro urged upon the graduating class to give priority for peace in their ministry. Looking at the present scenario, the speaker said that the dominant religion in India was trying in all possible ways to dominate the other religions by forcing its culture and deciding even which food to eat. It was to such a hostile context to which 15 of the graduates are going as missionaries and for which the speaker expressed his satisfaction.
CTC contribution towards high quality theological education as well as equipping students for the Christian ministries focusing on the motto of the college “Called out for the Great Harvest” was visible in reality by the statistic of the graduates.
The leader of the graduation service was Rev. Dr. A. Tali Ao, conferring and giving away of diplomas and awards to the graduating class were administered by the principal, Rev. Dr. Marnungsang, chairperson of CTC Board of Governors, Rowainla, academic dean Rev. Dr. A. Temjen Jamir, post graduate dean Rev. Dr. K. Dhanbir Rai and registrar of the Senate of Serampore College professor S.K. Patro.
