Five panchayats under 8th Western Angami assembly constituency, Kohima urban held a meeting on October 30 at Hotel 2K, Kohima and resolved to form 8th Western Urban Panchayats Union (WUPU) Kohima.
In a press release by the 8th Western Urban Panchayats Union convenor Khrielakuo Sekhose and secretary Zeruuzo Suohu stated that executive members of 8th Western Urban Panchayat Union Kohima held its first meeting on November 8, wherein it resolved the following points to be implemented under the jurisdiction of the five Panchayats. It resolved that in keeping with NBCC clean election campaign and to reduce election expenditure, no election camps would be set up for any intending candidates under the jurisdiction of the five panchayats. However, the house would allow a temporary office for paper works only and closure timing of the office by 7 pm. It also resolved that only one office for one candidate under one panchayat would be allowed and daily party feasting in the office will not be allowed for any political parties. It further resolved to organize a common platform for the intending candidates under 8th Western Angami assembly constituency, urban areas, Kohima in the forth coming assembly election.
The following persons were unanimously to be office bearers for the tenure 2017 to 2022: Khrielakuo Sekhose as convenor; Visa Meru, co-convenor; Zerüüzo Suohu as secretary; Kezhalezo Suohu, joint secretary; Khuvishe (Atomu) Zimhomi, Treasurer; Mezhüvizo Khezhie (head GB new Market); ex-officio members are head GB Daklane, Pukhato; head GB Naga Hospital, Vizokhor Khiezhie; head GB Midlane, Neikhonyü Sote; head GB Officer’s Hill, Vilie Shüya; and all the panchayat chairmen as executive members.
