9 legislators resign; seats declared vacant

Nine NDPP sitting MLAs– Er. Picto Shohe (Atoizu), Amenba Yaden (Tuli), L Khumo (Thonoknyu), Dr. Chotisuh Sazo (Chozuba), Er. Zale Neikha (Southern Angami-II),Yitachu (Meluri); Keneizhakho Nakhro (Western Angami), Azheto Zhimomi (Dimapur-III) and Y.M. Yollow Konyak (Wakching)—have tendered their resignations.
Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) secretariat informed that the assembly speaker has accepted their resignations from the membership of the 13th NLA with effect from the forenoon of February 2, 2023 and declared the seats mentioned against their names as vacant. All the nine sitting MLAs have been denied NDPP tickets for the forthcoming election and are geared up to contest as candidates of other political parties or as independents.
