90.8 Hills FM celebrated one year anniversary at its studio at Hotel Sente, Dimapur, on Friday with Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur (DC), Sachin Jaiswal as the special guest.
Delivering a short speech, Jaiswal congratulated the 90.8 Hills FM team for their remarkable journey and lauded the station’s commendable efforts in fostering social awareness and providing platforms for local talents. He emphasized that such initiatives exemplified the team’s dedication to the well-being of Nagas.
Jaiswal also urged the team to collaborate with health department to raise awareness about the ongoing pressing issues such as Dengue and Conjunctivitis, recognizing the significant impact their intervention could have on public awareness.
Meanwhile, offering words of encouragement, chief executive of Pinnacle Skills and Seed & director, Global Peers Skilling, Dr. Yan Murry, acknowledged the challenges faced by NGOs in terms of sustainability.
He hailed the 90.8 Hills FM team as true “Agents of Change” and urged them to leverage technology to its fullest potential. “Whatever resources you have at your disposal, utilize them positively”, he emphasized.
Dr. Murry also proposed a bi-monthly or quarterly joint programme with entrepreneurs, focusing on sustainability and business growth, to foster mutual support and development.
Managing director, 90.8 Hills FM, Imali Hesso, reflected on the journey’s trials and tribulations, highlighting the invaluable lessons in integrity and teamwork learned along the way.
She expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received from the community, with the station now receiving around 40 to 50 phone calls daily. She also proudly asserted that 90.8 Hills FM stood as one of the fastest-growing stations in the state.
Hesso underscored later that the station’s primary goal was to be a beacon for voices that often went unheard in the community, and called upon listeners for their continued support. The programme was chaired by mentor and Radio Jockey, 90.8 Hills FM, Gugu Haralu.
