Dimapur Sumi Students Union (DSSU) held its bi-annual fresher’s meet cum felicitation programme on August 29 at town hall, Dimapur with Minister Roads & Bridges, Y Vikheho Swu as chief guest under the theme “together towards tomorrow.”
Speaking at the programme, the chief guest encouraged and motivated the students to work hard in their pursuit of excellence. He also urged the gatherings to keep up with the Sumi culture and its values. At the programme, toppers of the recently declared NBSE examinations were also felicitated.
The programme was followed DSSU fresher’s contest which were judged by Dr. Khekugha Muru, Aharon Achumi, advocate and Government Higher Secondary School Chumukedima principal, Karen Yepthomi.
Kaino Khujumi of Eastern Christian College and K. Vinikali Achumi of St. John College bagged Mr. and Miss fresher’s respectively. Earlier, welcome address was delivered by DSSU president Tovika K Chishi and later vote of thanks was delivered by finance secretary, Niuka Assumi. The chief guest was accompanied by the host of dignitaries.
