Central agri officer visits state

In a two-day visit to Nagaland, director, ministry of agriculture, department of agriculture cooperation, Vinit K.Verma has recommended the agriculture department to create more market avenues for the produce of the farmers.
In his visit from September 2-3, director, , Vinit K. Verma, along with officers and staff of Directorate of Agriculture, Nagaland, and DAO, Kohima visited centrally sponsored scheme National Food Security Mission (NFSM) on varietal trail on SRI Paddy plots – Vurie, Kohima and interacted with local farmers engaged in the SRI plot.  The team also visited the cluster area of “Rainfed Area Development” (RAD) of NMSA, namely “Thukhu Model & Perizie.”
On the second day, the director after visiting a horticulture project at Tseminyu and nearby fields of Kohima district, held a round up meeting with the officers of agriculture and horticulture department. Secretary Agriculture, Chumremo Odyuo IAS, director of Agriculture, Rongseninla, addtional director Agriculture, Helie Rupreo and Imti Temjen,  joint director Agriculture, Nosezole Seleyi,  dy. director Agriculture, N.Jacob Yanthan, SMS Agriculture, Medovilie Ladu, joint director Horticulture, Dr.R.Elithung Lotha, deputy director Horticulture, Amos Ao, were present during the round up meeting of the visit.
