
Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) two-day consultative meeting was held at conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Phek and culminated on September 1.
In a press note, CPO president, Kekhwengulo Lea, informed that a special meeting with all the Chakhesang gazetted officers posted under Phek district was convened on the first day of the meeting.
The release stated that during the meeting, CPO sought their support and cooperation towards the organisation by rendering their best services towards community building on human resources, economic, education and social development in order to stay at par with the rest of others.
On its second day, CPO also held a joint meeting with the Phek Area Public Organization (PAPO) officials along with the entire neighbouring Village Council chairmen, GBs, VCMs, Pastors, village frontal organizations, elders of Phek Town at DC conference hall and deliberated on the various important issues confronting the community.
Addressing the gathering, CPO president, urged upon the village authorities to work towards preserving the moral values and ethics of the pioneers.
He also encouraged the PAPO officials and the village authorities to ban burning of jungles, hunting, extraction of flora and fauna, adding the same were the standing resolution of the CPO.
As part of upholding its resolution on non-import of poultry into Chakhesang areas, CPO team along with the leaders visited the State Pig Breeding Centre, Phek located some 6 kms away from Phek Town and interacted with the officials of the centre.
Observing that the centre was in need to upgrade with better breeding seeds and shelter (sheds) as well, the CPO appealed to the concerned department to pay attention to the centre for its basic requirement and further urged the people of the area to support the officials of the centre.
