DEO Kma organizes dist level teachers’ award programme

When barely three days left to celebrate state level teachers’ day, the District Education Office (DEO) Kohima organized district level teachers’ award programme and 25 teachers were awarded including 17 teachers from higher, primary and middle schools of government and 8 teachers from private institutions. The occasion was graced by deputy commissioner Kohima Rovilatuo Mor as the guest of honour at DPDB conference hall Kohima on Thursday.
Mor in his address congratulated the awardees and urged them to live up to the expectation of the people in serving their duty. He encouraged the awardee teachers to aim higher for state and national level award with more effort and sincerity. He reminded the teachers that teaching profession was not only a noble profession but it also moulded and shaped human beings.
DC said teacher’s job though may not be materially beneficial; however play a vital role by imparting education to the ignorant, making them more disciplined and to lead the children/students in the right way. He challenged the teachers to be more dedicated, sincere and sacrifice for the sake of the future generation.
SDEO Kohima Rokovolhoulie Nagi in his address stressed the importance of character and behavior for the teachers which would mould and inspire the children/students who were the future. SDEO Chiephobozou Visayieca in her speech challenged the teachers to be more responsible and dutiful to see the good fruit through the students. SDEO Tseminyu Orenponi in her address emphasized the importance of good character as a teacher which was neither a gift nor talent but by choice. She said a good teacher would be a blessing to the thousands of students. The programme was led JEO Vilanuo Angela, welcome and opening remark by DDEO Kohima Neizetuonuo, invocation prayer proposed by Rev. Fr. John P.M St Mary’s Cathedral Hr. Sec. school Kohima, special song was presented by Keneisedenuo Baptist high, while vote of thanks was tendered by the leader. The awardees were given certificates and cash by the deputy commissioner Kohima. The programme was attended by DEO Kohima officials, teachers from various schools of both private and government, district administration and others.
