ZSUN, KSO on appointment of primary teachers

Expressing “resentment” towards the education department for it inaction towards their ‘charter of demands’ with regard to appointment of 16 non-indigenous primary teachers in Peren district, the Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) and Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) has cautioned the appointed teachers “not to enjoy the share of others” till the concerned department comes up with a concrete solution and also appealed to the Village Education Committee (VEC) of the concerned villages not to entertain the appointment order (s).
In a press note, president ZSUN, Amonbo Zeliang, stated that the education system and environment was dirty and manipulated in Peren district for which the education department was responsible.
ZSUN and KSO rued their demands fell on deaf ears as the concerned department was yet address their charter of demand. “The Education Department while clearly announcing the quality education system in the state and on the other hand is appointing non– indigenous of the district to primary school where local dialect is the basic need to guide the students, and to quote the RTE Act 2009 clearly speak volumes,” the unions lamented. The unions also alleged that with the appointment of another non-indigenous teacher, the number have reached 17. In this regard, ZSUN and KSO, cautioned the appointed teachers not to enjoy the share of others and appealed to the VEC not to entertain their appointment orders. The unions also informed VEC members to be “aware” of such appointments in the department.
Further, ZSUN and KSO warned that “if any untoward incident occur the concern department will held liable.”
