DGM bids farewell to officers

Directorate of Geology and Mining Employees Association organised a farewell programme for its director, S. K Kenye and additional director E. Kikon at DGM conference hall, Dimapur on August 31. 
According to DIPR report, secretary Geology and Mining, Imjung M Panger, IAS addressing the gathering congratulated the retiring officers for their successful completion of 35 years of service and for retiring in good health. 
He said that during their leadership the department had progressed much and had also framed many important rules. Secretary also congratulated the incoming director, Wanthang and urged him and his team to lead the department into greater heights. 
He also released books titled “Time present and time past: memories of Naga Geologist” and “Judicious and need based development of ground water with special reference to hilly terrain of Nagaland” written by the retiring officers S. K Kenye and E. Kikon respectively.
Retiring director, S. K Kenye in his speech thanked the officers and staff for their co-operation. No amount of money could buy such a support, he said. He further acknowledged his additional director, E. Kikon for his sincere support and contribution while discharging duties and for shouldering much of the works.  Director also wished the incoming director, who he described as stable, humble and sincere officer, and his team all the success. S. K. Kenye joined the department as Assistant Geologist on August 20, 1981. 
Retiring additional director, E. Kikon in his speech said that he had enjoyed working in such a cohesive and congenial atmosphere and felt that he has given the best of his times and retiring satisfied and contended. Kikon also thanked all the administrative heads and directors with whom he worked, for their guidance and support. E Kikon joined the Geology & Mining department on August 20, 1981. 
Speaking on behalf of the department, incoming director, Wanthang described director S K Kenye as a man of vision who brought many changes into the department. He also said that director as a person is frank, brief and always ready to help whenever necessary.  He further said that E. Kikon was a sincere and dedicated officer and was fully engaged in Ground Water Resources and also looked after the establishment for the smooth functioning of the department. 
OSD, department of Geology & Mining, O. K. Temjen, managing director, NSMDC, Er. T. Longri Ao, president Nagaland Geoscientist Association, S. Manen also spoke during the programme. 
The programme was chaired by joint director, Panger. Other highlights of the programme included invocation by Geologist, David Lhoupenyi, special number by J. E. Er. Talirenla T. Sangtam, presentation and vote of thanks by Drilling Engineer, Er. Chirhotho Rasutho.
