After almost two years in a row, Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) Asükhuto town under Atoizu sub division, has suffered without electricity, reportedly.
This plight came into light when the KPA students and faculty, disclosed it to the Nagaland Post about the four months old destroyed/nonfunctional transformer, Tuesday evening.
Speaking exclusively, to Nagaland Post, KPA community (students & faculty) lamented, “ever since last year, Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) Asükhuto town, Atoizu has been a victim of frequent blackouts and power outages”.
“And this year, in May 2016 the transformer has exploded again and this is the 4th month we’ve been suffering without any positive outcome from the concerned authority”, rued the joint KPA fraternity.
“During the last previous semesters, the neighboring Rotomi village helped and rescued us twice with their transformer. We, the students and staff of Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) are facing lots of major untold ordeals due to the frequent power outage and blackouts”, bemoaned the KPA community.
“All, our classes – practicals, workshops, computer and other technical workloads are being halted and kept on hold mostly on various branches of engineering”, maintained KPA victims.
“We had to go to the next nearby village to get all our gadgets charged for various assignments since we’re living in a 4G (fourth generation) technological world; however, keeping apart the 3/4G spectrum KPA being the oldest technical institute in Nagaland is deprived of basic amenities”, questioned the KPA in their deepest and strongest words, “as to when, will the ‘government address’ our plight”.
KPA in a clarion call to all the concerned authority (s) gave a cautionary note seeking clarification, “will the issue be tabled/put into action by the government only after agitations, boycotting or resorting to strong resentments or other ultimatum?”, warned the KPA fraternity in conclusion.
It also added, that, “we will not be responsible for any untoward circumstances or reciprocations if our grievances are not addressed at the earliest”. It was also disclosed lately that phone and laptops charging were done on payments or Rs 20 & 30, respectively.
It maybe noted that some volunteers in numbers took the transformer twice and bought back but, there was no sign of power, till the filing of this report.
