NU-SET bids farewell to vice chancellor

Nagaland University School of Engineering & Technology (NU-SET), Dimapur had organized a farewell programme for the Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, Prof. B. K. Kumar, on August 30 in the conference hall of the academic building at Dimapur. 
Professor Kumar would be completing his 5 years term on September 7, 2016 and has undertaken two days journey  accompanied by the registrar and finance officer, to visit all the sister campuses to bid farewell to the university fraternity.
In the farewell speech of the vice-chancellor, exhorted the students’ community to be prepared to face all the challenges ahead while pursuing their academic career and asked them to work hard for successful completion of their studies as they were the future generation of the state as well as the country. He further encouraged the students to spend less and contribute more to the university while pursuing their studies. 
Vice-chancellor also emphasized on improvement of Agricultural Engineering & Technology so that the students could easily learn and equip themselves with all the practical knowledge of agricultural technologies in order to contribute more input to the state’s economy.  
VC further appreciated the staff, both faculty and administrative employees, for their tireless efforts and dedication in discharging their duties for the development of the university and encouraged them to re-dedicate themselves and work harder for achieving the target.
Dean of School of Engineering & Technology, Dimapur, Prof. Chaturvedi, in his introductory speech said that he was inspired by vice-chancellor’s personality of listening to others. He also said that during his tenure, the Nagaland University was re-accredited by NAAC “B” grade from “C” grade. Further he said that during the present VC’s tenure most of the vacant posts of both teaching and non–teaching were filled up. 
The farewell programme was chaired by Ayangla Jamir, assistant professor, introductory address was given by the dean, NU-SET, Dimapur, voluntary speeches were delivered by Er. Shanchamo Yanthan on behalf of the faculty, Lanuzulu, assistant, on behalf of the administrative staff and Abeni, on behalf of the engineering students and vote of thanks by Kahoshe Sumi, assistant registrar, NU-SET, Dimapur.
