SRU repair roads after being cut-off for 3 months

Sangsangyu Range Union (SRU), representing 12 villages under 51 A/C, Noksen, Tuensang, repaired the khudei- Noksen road on August 17-19 from Khudei Village to Bhumbak Village covering 35 Kms and also the Tuensang – Longleng road from Tuensang – Namshu River covering 20 Kms approximately from August 23-25. Informing this in a press note, president SRU, S. Khone Y and general secretary, M. Bin, stated that the two roads, khudei-Noksen road and Tuensang- Longleng road which connect the entire 12 villages with Tuensang headquarter remained cut— off for almost three months bringing untold hardships to the villagers.
In this regard the SRU lamented that its repeated appeal to the concerned department to look into the matter and renovate/maintain the said roads fell on deaf ears.
Moreover, SRU informed there was no bridge at Namshu River at Tuensang- Longleng road which also connect the two districts i.e., Tuensang and Longleng. With no aid from the government or the department concerned, SRU said the general public of the Sangsangyu Range decided to voluntarily repair the damaged roads.
Further, SRU also demanded to know whether the department/officials concern has appointed any labourers/official to look after the two roads.
Meanwhile, the union expressed gratitude to all individual and communities for their contributions and co-operation during the course of its civic initiatives. SRU also extended its gratitude to the elected leaders, parliamentary secretary Kejong Chang and C. M. Chang MLA for their kind and valuable contributions.
