Minister of Health and Family Welfare (H&FW), Pangyu Phom, advisors K. T. Sukhalu and Er. Zale Neikha had paid their maiden visits to respective departments on March 27.
Pangnyu Phom: Medical minister, Pangnyu Phom made his maiden visit to the directorate of Health & Family Welfare (H&FW), Kohima on March 27.
According to DIPR report, the minister was accompanied by commissioner & secretary, directorate of H&FW, government of Nagaland, R. Ramakrishnan.
Pangnyu visited various sections in the directorate and interacted with the officers and further encouraged them to work with sincerity and dedication as the department dealt with human lives.
He also expressed his concerns on the health status of the state especially at the hard to reach areas. Pangnyu also mentioned his commitment to press upon the government of India for strengthening the health infrastructure in the state.
K. T. Sukhalu: Advisor of School Education, K.T Sukhalu today said that development of human resource was key to the entire process of nation building.
Interacting with the officers and staff of the directorate of School Education today, Sukhalu said “we may have good roads and good means of communication but without human resource development, we cannot handle the growing needs of this modern era,” adding that the development in education sector required the total attention of all the stakeholders.
Sukhalu, who was recently appointed as advisor School Education said that the “change” as being advocated by the PDA government was not only about change in the attitude of the people towards the government and its functioning but it also called for change in the lives of the people.
Towards this end, he called upon those present to think and work in ways that he or she can contribute towards the betterment of the future generation.
He said the department is faced with a surmountable task and therefore asked the officers and staff of the department to work as a team to face the challenges ahead of them. Sukhalu thanked chief minister Neiphiu Rio for having faith in him to look after the department of School Education and further sought cooperation from all the officers and staff to tide over the problems and challenges ahead.
Principal Secretary, school education Menukhol John delivered the welcome address. Speeches were also delivered by officials from SSA, RMSA and NBSE. Director, School Education Wonthungo Tsopoe chaired the programme while Pollem Tep, additional director delivered the vote of thanks. (Correspondent)
