A “kick-off” meeting on “Liveability Standards” has been convened on April 4, 11 a.m. at the Conference Hall of the Chief Secretary (CS) Nagaland, Kohima under the chairmanship of the CS.
According to a DIPR report, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India launched the “Liveability Standards” for Indian Cities on June 23, 2017 at New Delhi to generate a Liveability Index and rate cities.
The City Liveability Index will help build a mature data ecosystem with a common baseline data, which States and Cities can leverage as an instrument for urban planning and management.
The ministry has engaged a consortium for assessment of the liveability indices in 116 cities and the exercise is to be completed by June 15, 2018. The consortium has appointed State Level Coordinators to conduct State and city level workshops to collect data & information.
The release said that Kohima has been selected for Liveability assessment in Nagaland for which “a kick-off meeting” has been convened.
All AHoD & HoD of the departments/organizations listed under have been requested to attend the meeting without fail: Urban Development Department, Municipal Affairs Department, Finance Department, Public Health Engineering Department, Transport Department, Power Department, Nagaland Electricity Commission, Health & Family Welfare Department, School Education Department, Higher & Technical Education department, Youth Resources & Sports Department, Works & Housing Department, Forest Department, Taxes Department, Home Department, State Disaster Management Authority, Pollution Control Board, New & Renewable Energy, Kohima Smart City Dev. Limited, Kohima Municipal Council and Development Authority Nagaland.
For a preliminary exercise, all concerned Departments have been requested to come with available required data. A nodal officer from each concerned department is required to be nominated and also to attend the workshop.
