Representing the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA), Master Trainer (MT), Tongpang Jamir, attended the two-day regional workshop on rehabilitation of persons with disabilities with special reference to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
A press release by NSLSA said that the workshop was organised by Ali Yavar National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities in collaboration with Office of the Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Government of Manipur at Imphal on March 27-28.
The release stated that the speakers in the programme spoke on rehabilitation facilities for PwDs in Nagaland- an overview, latest trends in educational options and opportunities for children with hearing impairment, welfare schemes for persons with disabilities.
The workshop also witnessed a panel discussion and group discussion on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and skill development programme for persons with disabilities. Representatives from the North East states attended the workshop.
