Team Clean Dimapur (TCD), a group of young people who have been voluntarily engaged in organizing cleanliness drives in and around Dimapur city, will be organizing a ‘Walk For Cleanliness’ on March 31.
The walk, scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. will start from PWD junction, head to Dhobinalla, then to Nyamo Lotha Road and culminate at Super Market.
TCD has invited all concerned citizens to come and be a part of the event to help keep the city clean. The event also marks the first anniversary of TCD’s formation.
TCD members also confirmed that students from various schools and colleges in Dimapur had assured of their participation. Members of Tenyimia Students Union Dimapur will also participate in event and more than 500 people are expected to come together for the event. It may be mentioned here that TCD had been actively organizing mass social works, cleanliness drives, installation of garbage bins at strategic locations in the city and poster campaigns on hygiene. The group also collaborated with Dimapur Municipal Council on numerous occasions to create awareness on proper disposal of garbage. The group has extended its invitation to all citizens of the city, especially the youth, to be part of the cleanliness initiative which should go a long way in creating a healthier and greener Dimapur.
