The joint council of Moya, Kiuro and Amikioro villages have resolved to restrict heavy vehicles from June 1 within its jurisdiction to facilitate road maintenance.
The joint village council, in a press release issued by M. Thsesong Hd. GB Moya, Tsalimong, VCC Moya, Y. Tsasukiu, Hd. GB Kiuro, Likhomong, VCC Kiuro, T. Chuba, Hd. GB Amikioro and Kurakmong, VCC Amikioro village, stated that, due to deplorable road conditions, government officials were unable to visit the villages for developmental activities which resulted in great losses for the rural people.
Therefore, the joint village councils resolved to permit the 2 months of April & May to ferry timber (Fanta) and pine wood. It further warned that, after the stipulated time, heavy fines shall be imposed upon defaulters and the vehicles will be seized by the joint councils.
