Eco-Club of ICD & DMC launches cleaning drive

A cleanliness drive launching programme was organised by Eco-Club (EC), Immanuel College Dimapur (ICD) in collaboration with Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) on March 26 at the college conference hall.
A press release from Immanuel College media cell convenor, Akutu Poireng stated that the objective of the programme was to increase public support and cooperation for improving the city’s living environment. It also focused on the importance of community cooperation for a cleaner and better Dimapur. 
The programme was chaired by Wangphoa, president Eco-Club, Immanuel College, the invocation was said by Vepu assistant professor of Botany, the introductory speech was delivered by Sharatchandra Singh, principal Immanuel College and a speech was delivered by Moa Sangtam, administrator DMC. 
The programme concluded with the signing of an MoU by Moa Sangtam DMC administrator and Sharatchandra Singh, principal Immanuel College in the presence of Eco-Club convenor, Temsutola assistant professor of Botany, DMC representatives, faculty members and students. Immanuel College has become the first secular college to collaborate with DMC for the cleanliness and beautification of the city by adopting the road from DC Court Junction to Fellowship Colony Junction. The launching programme was followed by a cleanliness drive along the adopted road by the students of Immanuel College.
