A felicitation programme of Nagaland Hotel Limited (NHL) chairman Ato Yepthomi was held Tuesday, at “The Orchid” conference hall, Hotel Saramati.
Delivering speech at the felicitation programme, Ato Yepthomi thanked the chief minister for appointing him as the NHL chairman.
Exuding about hotel industry, he said that the industry itself should not be taken for granted but should be upgraded every now and then since it was the fastest and most respected industry all over the world.
Yepthomi encouraged the members of NHL to promote and remain updated in order to keep up with the reputation of the hotels. “We need to pull ourselves together and present the best out of it” he added.
Chairman also encouraged the gathering to improve and try out to spread wings of hotels even in other districts. Mentioning about hotel Japfu, Kohima and Hotel Saramati, Dimapur he pointed that though it came under the category of three star hotels, yet it needed more improvement, good facilities and to be cross checked for betterment of the hotels to shine with more stars.
He also sought suggestions from the members so that together they would emerge in the days to come and hoped to look into the problems as per his abilities.
Meanwhile, speech on behalf of the unit was delivered by Hotel Japfu, Kohima deputy general manager Kazhumi Phesao where she highlighted about the functional system of the hotel. While, hotel Saramati Dimapur, Florence Chophy highlighted the problems of the hotel and lamented that though Hotel Saramati was renewed last year, it continues to struggle for revenue improvement since last seven months. She therefore, hoped for positive outcome and expressed confidence that Ato Yepthomi as chairman would bring about positive change.

Advisor Mhathung Yanthan: A felicitation-cum-introductory programme was held at the conference hall, directorate of Horticulture on April 3 with advisor of Horticulture, MhathungYanthan as the chief guest.
According to DIPR report, the programme was chaired by chaired by secretary Horticulture, Alan Gonmei. The chairman mentioned that department was lucky to have Mhathung as advisor because of his vast knowledge and past experience as government servant.
Mhathung in his speech informed that Nagaland has lot of potential to develop in the field of Horticulture and called upon all the officers to sincerely work for the farmers. He mentioned that the need of the hour was change in approach, thinking, planning and added that it was important to keep pace with technology. He mentioned that in many villages people have already given up farming, so the role of the department was to identify and research what went wrong.
Mhathung stated that it was important to identify what would be suitable to benefit the farmers and motivate and share various ideas to explore ways and means. He added that all funds should reach those working in the grass root level and emphasized on the importance of skill development and training. Welcome speech was delivered by joint director, Horticulture, Qhutovi Wotsa. Highlight of activities of department was given by director & mission director (MIDH), Dr. R. Elithung Lotha. Vote of thanks was proposed by deputy director, Horticulture, Jerry Patton.
MLAs Azheto Zhimomi and Moatoshi Longkumer: Naga People’s Front (NPF) Dimapur division organised felicitation programme for two NPF MLAs, Azheto Zhimomi and Moatoshi Longkumer, on April 2 at NPF Dimapur Division office.
Addressing the party workers and well wishers, Azheto asserted that NPF was committed to work for the right and welfare of the people. He called upon the party workers, supporters and well wishers to continue to extend their support so as to strengthen the party.
Moatoshi asserted that Dimapur needs change and asked the public to cooperate with him by changing their mindset thus paving the way for the change to come to Dimapur. He said NPF party alone cannot bring change and that all concerned should join hands and work together at achieve the desired goal.
A prayer for the MLAs was said by United Baptist Church, Midland Dimapur, Sr. Pastor Rev. Puduhu Khusoh, who also pronounced the benediction.
NPF central vice president and in-charge Dimapur Division, Pusazo Luruo and NPF minority wing president, Bishnu Bhattacharje delivered short speeches.
Meribeni Patton enthralled the gathering with a song; NPF Dimapur Division president, Er. Rhonthungo M. Ovung, delivered welcome address; NPF Dimapur division vice president, I. Sosang Jamir, said the invocation; NPF Women Wing Dimapur division, president, Vepranulu felicitated the two MLAs on behalf of NPF Dimapur division; NPF women wing Dimapur division general secretary, Meribeni, chaired the function while NPF youth wing Dimapur division president, Temsuyanger Jamir, proposed the vote of thanks.
Imnatiba: Imnatiba, advisor, Industries and Commerce and NIDC visited the office of NIDC at Dimapur on April 3 where a short felicitation programme was held in his honour.
The MD of NIDC, C M Lotha while welcoming the new advisor also highlighted on the corporation’s future visions and past performances. The advisor also thanked the NIDC officers and staff for giving him a warm welcome and also encouraged all the members present to be sincere and steadfast in their service to the public. He also encouraged all rank and files of the office to approach him directly for any grievances and also ask for their cooperation in all official matters.
