World Health Day was observed in the state on April 7 at Kohima and Tuensang.
Kohima: World Health Day 2018 was observed at Urban PHC Seikhazou, Kohima, under the theme “Healthy Attitude, Healthy Habits and Healthy Lifestyle”, attended by community members, students from Dr. Neilhouzhü Kire Memorial Govt. Higher Secondary School and Govt. Middle School, Seikhazou, community workers, staff from urban sub-centres and UPHC.
A press release from Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Rita Thurr, stated that during the event, “Swacchata Pakhwada/Cleanliness Fortnight – Swachhata Se Siddhi Campaign” was also observed at the centre.
An open poster competition was organized for the students of two schools. Out of the 46 entries received, Neizokhonuo bagged the 1st prize while Theguoneizo Rutsa and Neiketouzo bagged the 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively. 10 consolation prizes were awarded to the next best entries and every participant was given a small token. Prizes along with certificates were distributed by Mhalezothie Khezie, chairman, Health Centre Management Committee (HCMC). In his speech, the chairman appraised the gathering on the significance of observing World Health Day.
Dr. Bilva Yalie, Medical Officer, Urban PHC delivered the welcome address and Dr. Aomeren Longkumer, Medical Officer i/c, UPHC gave the closing remarks.
Tuensang: The Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) Tuensang in collaboration with 40 Assam Rifles Tuensang observed, “World Health Day” at UPHC office.
A press release from UPHC, MO, Dr. Imliyate stated that regimental medial officer Tuensang Captain Shriven Kumar V, delivered a speech on various issues related to “Healthy Attitude, Healthy Habits and Healthy Lifestyle”. The medical officer, nurses, urban consultant, pharmacist and lab technician of UPHC along with the beneficiaries attended the programme.
