Ralan Area Lotha Lotha (RALH) has sought immediate intervention of the state government to take preventive action against alleged construction of Assam police camps, 100 metres from the Lotha/Naga villages (Foothill section) of Ralan area, within the vicinity of SSB camps.
In a press note, Ralan Area Lotha Lotha chairman Hayithung Kikon and general secretary C.S. Ovung claimed that the issue was of serious nature and that “the activities of the Assam Police has once again triggered tension, disturbing the peaceful environment.”
It further alleged that the Assam police conduct patrolling and vehicular checking within the jurisdiction of Lotha Naga villages, in violation of the status quo maintained in the border area.
Ralan Area Lotha Lotha has therefore appealed for redeployment of IRB personnel in the area, which were withdrawn for election duty, keeping in mind the safety and security of the Lotha Naga villagers and also to control any unwanted situation in the Disturbed Area Belt (DAB) areas.
It claimed that the activities of the Assam police started soon after the withdrawal of IRB personnel.
