The district planning and development board (DPDB) meetings were held in Mokokchung, Pughoboto, Mangkolemba, Peren and Jalukie in the month of April in their respective headquarters.
Mokokchung DPDB: Mokokchung District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) held its meeting for the month of April at the ADC (planning cell) conference hall on April 7.
According to DIPR report, the meeting was chaired by the new DPDB chairman, Imnatiba who is also advisor to the department of Industries & Commerce and NIDC, attended by minister for Public Works department, Tongpang Ozukum and the advisor to the departments of Law & Justice, Border Affairs and Treasuries & Accounts, Dr. Longrineken.
Speaking at the meeting, Imnatiba said although he was new to politics and the DPDB proceedings he was excited to do his best for the welfare of the people and development of the district. He sought the DPDB’s full cooperation and urged them to contribute innovative ideas. He also appealed to the members to attend the meetings regularly and contribute their best.
Minister, Tongpang Ozukum and advisor, Dr. Longrineken also shared their visions and dreams on giving an impetus to the development trend for the district. They also said that all the elected members from Mokokchung district would soon hold a meeting to discuss they could collectively implement measures for the developmental front.
DC and vice-chairman, Sachin Jaiswal welcomed the new DPDB chairman, Imnatiba, Tongpang Ozukum and Dr Longrineken to the meeting. Sachin Jaiswal also brought up a number measures that needed strengthening such as public services delivery system, implementation of citizens charter in all departments within the district, better coordination among departments on various welfare schemes. He also spoke about developing and maintaining peace in the border areas, which, he said, was his priority.
The meeting once again discussed the urgent need for construction of a ring road for “Mokokchung town, operation of all transport buses from the Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) at Khensa.”
Taking part in the discussions Tongpang Ozukumsaid that pot-holes in the entire district headquarter roads were being repaired on a war footing.” The minister called upon the people for their cooperation so that the work could be completed within the proposed time frame.
A proposal to construct an approach road to the new MMC dumping zone was also approved and forwarded so that construction could begin at the earliest.
Ao Senden president, Imliyanger Jamir and vice-president, Chubawati, who also attended the meeting, assured the officials of their full support for developmental activities.
Pughoboto SDPDB: The Sub Division Planning Development Board (SDPDB), Pughoboto meeting was held with MLA and chairman, Y. Vikheho Swu at the ADC office Pughoboto on April 9.
According to DIPR report, Avelu Ruho ADC reviewed the last meeting minutes, and house also congratulated Y. Vikheho Swu, who has been appointed as the chairman of SDPDB.
Y. Vikheho Swu who was re-elected from the 13 A/C Pughoboto sincerely acknowledged all the officers in the meeting for their rendered services with co-operation.
Swu said that he tried his best to initiate a new programme in the Pughoboto sub-division and launched a few programme under LADP and assured that he would continue to carry out the development works to uplift Pughoboto. The MLA said that to encourage the farmers he is planning to bring officials from the Land Resources department for “coffee plantation” in his area next month. “Green Pughoboto” under “plantation week” would be held from May 14 to 19, and had tentatively been fixed on May 14 at Asukiqa area, May 16 at Ghathashi area and May 18 at KhuchoTsuyi (KT) area. The MLA said that an award of Rs.50,000/- would be given to villages for arranging maximum plantation on their own and for nurturing the saplings.
The house deliberated on lifting of boulders from the Doyang River and agreed to send as a letter to remind the village council to prohibit the lifting of boulders. The house also approved to hold a seminar on “biodiversity conservation” on June 5 coinciding with the World Environment Day and the next SDPDB meeting has been scheduled on May 7. The house also decided to write to the concern departments to give direct power supply to Pughoboto from Kohima.
Mangkolemba SDPDB: The Mangkolemba Sub-Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) meeting for the month of April was held at ADC office Mangkolemba on April 6 under the chairmanship of ADC Mangkolemba, Razouvolie Dozo.
A DIPR report said that the chairman, while welcoming the members, lauded all heads of offices responsible for the successful conduct of the last Assembly Elections. During the meeting, the house decided to forward, to the concern authorities, the matter of the upgradation of GPS Akumen to a GMS and the matter of the application for a grant-in-aid, submitted by principle of Baptist Higher Secondary School, Mangkolemba. The house also discussed the construction of a rostrum at public ground Nokyu ward, approach road to cemetery and installing a water source and electrification at the cemetery.
Peren DPDB: The monthly meeting of Peren District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was held at the DC conference hall on April 10 under the chairmanship of ADC Chuba Wati. The meeting started with a review of the previous meeting and board recommended for setting up of gravity goods ropeway in Punglwa, Peren block under NERLP.
Jalukie sub-division: The monthly coordination meeting was held at Jalukie sub-division on April 7 with Nagaland state disability, government official, GBs, youth and church leaders at Jalukie town hall. SDO (C), Jalukie, Lankonsen Tsanglao thanked all the members present.
NSDF president Kezha gave detailed information on the Rights of Person with Disability Act 2016. He also spoke on roles of the citizens to avoid discrimination of disabled persons.
