Khiamniungan Union Tuensang (KUT) has “strongly” condemned the rape of a 15 year old minor girl allegedly by one Meyikumzuk Jamir on August 11 night at Merhulietsa Colony Kohima.
In a condemnation note, KUT stated the “shameless act committed by the accused be condemned by all right thinking and responsible citizens.” Terming the act as “beastly” and “heinous,” KUT said that such “perpretator under the guise of Meyikumzuk Jamir has no place in the society and must be awarded befitting punishment as per the law.”
It appealed the law enforcement agency not to grant bail to the accused at any “circumstances.” Further, KUT stated it share the “unbearable pain and anguish with the victim and her family.”
SSUK condemns: SSUK has condemned the “inhuman act” committed by one Meyikumzuk Jamir of Chuchuyimlang village. In a condemnation note, SSUK president Horiba L and general secretary Kokvila Sangtam expressed shock that such incident still exist in a Christian state like Nagaland. The Union further appealed the law enforcing agency to award befitting punishment to the culprit for committing such heinous crime.
