Chief Election Officer (CEO), Nagaland has informed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Roll (PER) with reference to January 1, 2017 as the qualifying date. ECI has informed that the revision would be a Special Summary Revision in all States and Union Territories (except certain Assembly Constituencies of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana).
As per the revision schedule, the date of publication of electoral rolls has been fixed as October 1, 2016 and claims and objections can be filed till October 31, 2016.
Reading of relevant part/section of photo electoral rolls in gram sabha/local bodies and RWA meetings etc and verification of names would be taken up on October 7 and October 14, 2016. Special campaign dates with booth level agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections would be carried out on October 8 and October 22, 2016 while disposal of claims and objections by November 30, 2016.
Updating of database, merging of photographs, updating the control tables and preparation and printing of supplementary list would be done by December 24, 2016 while final electoral rolls would be published on January 10, 2017.
