
J.N.Aier College, Dimapur and Yemhi Memorial College (YMC) Dimapur on Friday welcomed the freshers to their institutions.
At J.N. Aier College, the programme was graced by chairman college managing board, M.Imie Ao as guest motivator.
Speaking on the occasion, Imie encouraged the students to be active and illustrative so that they can cope with fast changing world.
He also urged the students to opt for the best which suited them in choosing their career.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by assistant professor, Arenla while God’s blessing was invoked by assistant professor, Kavitoli.
Welcome speech was delivered by president CSC, Otto Kibami, speech on behalf of freshers was delivered by Fuchamo, 1st semester and exhortation by principal and benediction was pronounced by chaplin, Kalito Awomi.
The programme was followed by songs and ethnic round and formal round. Mr Kitovi and Miss Alito were adjudged as Mr & Miss freshers of J.N.Aier college 2016.
YMC: Director Higher Education, I Alempokba urged the students to remain focus and work harder in order to achieve their goal.
Director said this while addressing the 3rd fresher’s day programme of YMC.
He also lauded the punctuality maintained by the students and the teaching faculty and also congratulated the freshers for success in their academic career.
He further encouraged students to work hard, saying that there was no substituted to success and that one should inculcate the qualities of hard work to achieve.
He also reminded the faculty members to work with enthusiasm so that the students could achieve greater heights.
“We have set an era where we need to redefine education, therefore the purpose of the gaining education and the importance of it should be focussed”, Alempokba said.
Short speech was also delivered by YMC Chairman Joshua Achumi and speech on behalf of the first semester was delivered by Vanthianching.
The programme highlighted release of college bulletin and official launched of YMC educational scholarship. Altogether five students were certified scholarship on merit basis and criteria set by the college.
Pallavi Purkaystha and K. Atomi Assumi were adjudged Mr and Miss freshers.
