
The 2st round of National De-Worming day was launched in Tuensang district on August 10 by the chief medical officer, Dr. T. Pangjung Sangtam along with the staffs of CMO and NHM Tuensang.
The Inaugural programme was held at Govt. Primary School Station 1 Tuensang town. The department will carry on the De-Worming drive in all Schools and Anganwati centres covering the children under the age group of 1-19 years. CMO also appreciated success for the first round and further seek cooperation.
NDD Kiphire: NDD was conducted at the DC’s office Kiphire on August 9.
Dr. Tinurenla gave an overview about the programme and highlighted the activities which were to be carried out in the district. She urged the members to render their support for successful implementation of the programme. During the program, children between the ages of 1 to 19 would be dewormed with administration of Albendazole chewable tablets in all schools (government and private) and Anganwadi centres.
On August 10, National Deworming Day was launched at Saramati View Modern School, where Dr. Tinurenla gave an overview of the programme to the students and said that the early years of a child are the most critical and significant phase. The students of Saramati View Modern School were administered Albendazole tablets during the launch.
The National Deworming Day would be followed by a mop-up day on August 17, to cover children who might be left out during the administration of to ensure maximum coverage.
The meeting was conducted under the chairmanship on Sedevikho Khro DC Kiphire and was attended by Dr. Tinurenla Dy. CMO, Dr. Khelito DTO, Rezulule Addl. SP, Tsangkhuchu Sangtam CDPO, Thomas Thonger SS NST, Kipitong SIS SDEO and Atsachum SHP co-ordinator.
