Raid on sale of expired goods

Pfutsero Town Voluntary Consumer Forum ( PTVCF) along with administrations, ACUAT Pfutsero, Pfutsero Town Citizen Welfare Forum, Colony chairman, Kalos Society, Pfutsero Police and volunteers conducted surprise checking on illegal sale of expired goods on August 5 within the vicinity of Pfutsero town jurisdiction. 
In the operational drive, huge consignments of expired goods and commodities worth around lakhs of rupees from various grocery, retailers and pharmacies were detected, said PTVCF convener, Vetsurayi in a press statement. 
Forum said that the search operation was carried out following complaints from public with regard to sale of expired goods. 
It stated that such illegal practices were prevalent for the past few months. 
Further, PTVCF warned that it will vigilantly conduct checking from time to time to curb such malpractices.  
During the raid, the forum said it will take its own course of action as per the consumer rights, in case of any individuals found not cooperating with the guidelines and continue to sale those expired goods and beyond printed price. 
Later, the seized expired goods and those unlabeled trademark goods were destroyed and burnt in front of the officials.
