Kulolau Shoixe Ghami Kughuko Kuqhakulu (KSGKK) has appealed state government to intervene and check the massive erosion taking place at Zubza river and which was bound to affect Yeveto village. KSGKK comprises of more than ten villages under the Dimapur district, where Yeveto village is also its member.
A press release by Kulolau Shoixe Ghami Kughuko Kuqhakulu president, Shihoto Zhimomi and general secretary, Kashiho Zhimomi stated that villagers have been working round the clock, risking their life from the strong flood to protect the village.
Kulolau Shoixe Ghami Kughuko Kuqhakulu also requested the state government to intervene at the earliest because once the river overflows and changed its direction towards the Yeveto village, it would damage more numbers of villages below its neighboring areas.
Union also expressed its gratitude to the parliamentary secretary for Irrigation & Flood Control, Jacob Zhimomi for his timely inspection at the site and intervened to press the department where it have sanctioned the amount of Rs. 2,50,000 (Rupees two lakhs fifty thousands) for the initial works.
The union also appreciates the ADC Niuland and the other officials for visiting the spot and taking initiative steps for protecting the village from this natural disaster.
The union most importantly thank the Western Sumi Students Union, Western Sumi Kukami Hoho and the other organizations for strongly pressing the government.
