Sand Mahaldar and Suppliers Association (SMSA), Manja HQ, Karbi Anglong on Monday informed that all the mahaldars have unanimously decided to ban 10 and 12 wheeler trucks used for sand transportation. In a press release, SMSA president Jackson Kramsa said the mahaldars have also resolved not to load more than 500cft/14cm per truck along the highways. Expressing regret over the decisions, Kramsa said “this undesired resolution” was taken due to complaints by public and social organizations and requested the public to bear with the association.
