A joint team of 37 Assam Rifles and 32 Assam Rifles apprehended a self styled captain of NSCN (IM), along with arms, ammunition and incriminating documents on July 25 in Toulazuma area, Dimapur. Based on information, the suspected house was searched, which led to apprehension of the cadre, along with recovery of one Point 38 Revolver, Point 38 ammunition and incriminating documents, informed an AR press release. On spot questioning, the apprehended cadre accepted his association with NSCN (IM) and revealed his involvement in extortion activities from trucks plying on Golaghat Road.
The apprehended cadre was identified as Service Number 11045, Self Styled Captain Atu Pochury, r/o Toulazuma. The apprehended cadre and recovered items were handed over to Dimapur East Police Station.
