Describing non-release of funds and salary under National Health Mission (NHM) to the State Health Society (SHS) as a “big problem” in the state, the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) director (finance), Kavita Singh on Friday, however, said the state government has assured to release fund under the state health society.
Kavita Singh told Nagaland Post that salary for three-four months and payment for schemes such as Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram (JSSK), Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), family planning incentives etc. has not been released because the money that the Centre sanctioned was still with state treasury. She informed that even the Union Health Minister had written to the state chief minister for release of fund and salary.
As per government of India order, she said money was to be released within 15 days, but the state government released money only in small amount. NRHM director (finance) said the state could get more funds from centre but due to non-release, the government was unable to sanction more money.
She is on a three-day visit to the state to review financial management and implementation of Public Finance Management System (PFMS) by finance management group under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
